Originally used by pirates as a base for their attacks
on merchant ships in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dry Tortugas
National Park is a must do trip when visiting Key West. The
islands offer excellent beaches, some of the best snorkeling
in the country, an abundance of bird life and the history
of Fort Jefferson, a military prison during the Civil War,
dating back to the mid 1800’s. Located approximately
70 miles west of Key West, you have three choices of transportation
to the Dry Tortugas, so pick what suits you best and give
us a call or just let us help make your decision. The main
thing is not to leave Key West before you experience what
is probably our most popular attraction. |
